Hi Ladies and Gents

I am back! I have not posted for so long as I have been so busy preparing for a craft fair r two this month. I have also been busy with the school etc.

I hope not too many of you have had the H1N1 Virus it seems to have hit Okotoks schools and both my boys have had it. My oldest is still trying to get over the viral symptoms - he has got viral sinusitis and a viral cough.

I promise to put my pictures on here tomorrow of all the things I have been doing, mostly cards to sell.

Hopefully you have not all abandoned me and have not stopped visiting.

So Long since I added anything

Hi everyone.

It is so long since I added anything to my blog, with the boys being on holiday I have been running around here there and everywhere.

They have now finished their volunteer hours and swimming lessons so now we can get down to relaxing and having a good rest.

I have not been very creative of late but what I have finished tonight is waiting to be photographed and I will post hopefully tomorrow.

I have a cute mini album finished for my little nephew Ciaran it has still to have the photos put in, and I am busy making Christmas cards for the craft shows I plan to vend at. I will post them nearer the time as I like to keep some of them a surprise.

I plan to make some more christmas cards tomorrow and make some cards for my class at Pam's new scrapbook store in Calgary. I will be doing a couple of classes for her from time to time and I hope some of you will visit and take some classes there. Her opening week is 1st August and there will be make and Takes and if you visit her website you can get all the news and discount coupons for her opening week.

Teacher Gifts and Cards

Hi Everyone

I have not had time to blog for so long. Too busy!

We have been busy making Teacher Cards and Gifts for my boys. My oldest boy (14) is finishing Junior High and is so excited about High School. My youngest(12) is just finishing his first year at Jr. High.

This is the cards we made. We made them to look like blackboards and then stamped Teachers have Class on them. Next the boys designed them tosuit their teacher with little pictures pertinent to them.

Materials used:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white card

Black cardstock

Desert Sand Cardstock

White Ink Pens

White stamp pad

All from Close to my Heart

We also made gifts of Teacher survival kits. We added gift cards to some.

Hi Kirsten,

This 18 page Album cost $150.00 Canadian to make total and that includes the Album and a cover for it. It also includes all the eyelets and photo corners and brads. If you were making it for someone and charging it would cost $300. canadian as it took 9 hours with no stamping frm start to finish. I charge $15 canadian per hour if they use my CTMH papers and album etc. If they want other supplies I would charge 18 - 20 dollars per hour plus materials.

I am really glad you like it, most of the layouts are from our How to Programs at CTMH so it was nice and easy.

I have been very busy this week and not had much time to keep my posts up to date. I have just finished this set of 10 cards. I want to thank Nanci Hatchet for the pattern and some tips and assistance from Judy Gooderham. I hope I spelt there names properly.LOL. Forgive me girls if I have made a mistake. Hi Folks

In answer to your questions about my 18 Page Album.

1. I did use one Level 2 Paper Packet from Close to My Heart. I used Bella.

2. I tried to follow Robin Garrows pattern, but I got diverted, LOL. So I used some of those layouts and picked some I liked from our How To Programs Cherish and Imagine. Both Close To My Heart.

3. Modified some to fit my needs.

4. I reckon it will cost just under $150 Canadian for the materials used Including the Album, protectors and Cover. This is a rough estimate I need to sit down and do a proper costing before setting my price, but it will not much different from that.

5. To scrap it for someone it will cost $300. Canadian charging for Hours It took about 9 hours with no stamping. So I have allowed another hour to include stamping for Titles Etc.

Hi all,

Today is a very quiet day or us as we have had a busy busy, weekend. We started off doing the Annual parade of garage sales here in Okotoks on Saturday, not really to but but more of a social event. The weather was so warm and everyone was having a great time. On Sunday we had friends over for BBQ and had a great time.

Today I spent scrapbooking the kids did some homework and study and Simon did some DIY.

I have just checked my Blog and discovered some great comments. Thanks for that Ladies I really appreciate the nice comments. Makes you feel all fuzzy inside. LOL.

I have been working on some layouts and some cards for a class this month I will post them tomorrow as my camera ran out of battery today.

I am just going to go Blog hopping now.

This is the inside of the Lid, it has a plastic holder for the calendar pages, and the inside of the cube.

I plan to make cards/envelopes with Bella paper for the inside.

Its a rainy Tuesday here in Okotoks. I have been busy over the last few days with some layouts for a customer (still haven't got round to mine,LOL).

This is the 1st two layouts I completed using Daydream.

These two are almost complete. They need a little something else. The cupcake does have Glitter and Liquid glass on it but it does not show up well on the picture.

These two are still in planning. LOL. I find it very hard to scrap pink as I only have boys and Pink is not a colour I work with. I would love some comments and suggestions. Feel free.

There is only one other thing I have to share with you today. When you are busy scrapping, are you as messy as me?

I came across this picture of my son from last Spring when he wanted to try out for the football team here. Needless to say it did not work out well. He was fast enough and fit enough, but did not have the weight so when he was tackled, he flew about 20 feet through the air, landed badly and suffered as a result for weeks, with severe bruising and whiplash. Football was over for him! LOL. I should have known better when they had to order special equipment for him. You live and learn.

Sunday 4th may 2008

Hi Today I have spent with the family and enjoyed a great day of sunshine. The weather has been so so snowy all winter and I certainly hope we have seen the last of the snow.

This evening I started my Album about my family and I have decided to start with each of us in a double spread and move on from there. I will post pictures when I have finished the layouts. I may not have the photos on, but small steps will get me there. I have been doing so much for everyone else I have neglected my own scrapbooking for so long and I am so far behind I have to make this easy for me.

My open day was a success and I met some lovely new ladies. This is the card we made. I took it straight out of our New Catalgue and used our paper Bella.

Well today is very exciting. I always get excited on my open days to see who will turn up. I love to see the familiar faces come back again and again, and look forward to meeting new friends. I love the job I do, and love to share it with everyone. Let's face it how many people get to do something they love doing day in and day out.

I am hoping to get more organised now and post every week or more often as time permits. I hope to bring you slideshows and tutorials in order for yu to scrapbook simpler, faster,easier.

Hi My name is Liz Davies.

I love to Scrapbook and since moving to Canada I have developed a passion for creating memories to share with everyone, and for showing others how to do the same.

We moved to Okotoks, Alberta in 2006 from the UK. Simon, my hubby and I have lived in many far reached countries in the world ranging from the East to the Middle East, Europe and now North America.

I am not the most organised person when it comes to my own scrapbooking. I never have the time. I have boxes of photographs everywhere stashed out of sight, waiting to see the light of day. One day I hope to get round to scrapping them and enjoying opening them every now and again.

I am an Independant consultant for Close To My Heart and just love their products. The quality is amazing. I use other products too from many other companies, but my favourite is Close To My Heart. It has not been easy juggling a family, housework, two rascals known as Jet and Scamp (our dogs) and a scrapbooking business, but I am not moaning, I would not change it for the world.

My family are amazing they are very supportive of what I do and encourage me too. My children have been uprooted and left friends behind, but they have made new ones and risen to the challenge of acheiving high grades at school which make me very proud. My Simon works in the Oil Industry (who doesn't in Calgary I hear you cry.) What would we do without them!

I hope to update this site regularly and enter all the fun stuff that I have been doing, bear with me while I am in set up.
